Workshops for parents and carers

As part of our work with young people transferring to adult services we’ve been given the opportunity to share some FREE parent workshops with you! 🥰

Money Matters – a workshop for parent carers
Tuesday 7th March 7.00pm-9.00pm via Zoom

Financial matters, and the benefit system can seem very confusing at the best of times. This online workshop will help you to make sense of financial matters and opportunities for you and your family.

This online workshop will cover:
• an overview of benefits (DLA, Carer’s Allowance) – dispelling common myths
• opportunities for grants and discounts available on utility bills, leisure activities and for carers
• services available to support you with making applications
• hear other parents’ experiences
• share as much or as little of your story as you wish
• explore how you can obtain further help and guidance if you need it

Speech, language and communication – a workshop for parent carers
Thursday 30th March

Join this online workshop and meet other parent carers experiencing similar issues, with the benefit of an expert Speech and language Therapist. The workshop will cover:

• Understanding the communication chain and which part is not working for your child
• How you can support your child
• Your role
• Key strategies
• How to work with others supporting your child so you all have a common approach to supporting communication development
• Resources and where to get more support

Please email info@sfhearts.org.uk if you are interested in these workshops. You’ll need to be a member to access the workshops – if you’re not already a friend, sign up here
