Katrijn is an adult congenital cardiologist and associate clinical lecturer at the Freeman Hospital and Newcastle upon Tyne university.
Dr Louise Coats is an adult congenital cardiologist at the Freeman hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne and a researcher at Newcastle University. She is interested in how we can evolve healthcare services to improve experience and outcomes for patients.
Liza Morton, PhD, Clinical Psychology, is a Chartered and Registered Counselling Psychologist and a Lecturer in Applied Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Debbie McParlin is a Fontan Nurse specialist, dual trained in Adults and Paediatrics. She has subsequently worked in the ACHD team, and as cardiothoracic tx coordinator.
Lorna is the lead nurse for the adult congenital service based at the Freeman hospital. She works alongside Debbie to support adults and their families throughout their congenital heart disease journey.
James, born with complex CHD, will share his story of finding ‘me’ through ‘changing the narrative’. He hopes to offer a fresh outlook on what might be possible.

She will also talk about the SEA Change study which looked at the feasibility of implementing a simple supported exercise programme in to clinical practice. It was low cost and suitable for all as it was based on breathing exercises, a walking program and home based strength exercises.
