Campaigning on issues that are important to you can make a real difference. That’s why we work together to help support and protect congenital heart patients.

With help from our heart heroes, we’ve helped fund new and improved treatments for congenital heart defects, we’ve opened the UK’s first dedicated Congenital Heart Research Centre, and we ensure that adult CHD patients are fully supported throughout their lives. Together we have the power to do this. We can create a better world.

CHD Awareness Week

Each February, we helped campaigners across the country to spread the word and raise funds to help adult CHD patients live longer, healthier, happier lives.

Congenital Cardiac Disease Review – Patient Experience – Scotland

Our research panel is calling on members to complete a questionnaire to support the review of specialist congenital cardiac services in Scotland. Please complete the questionnaire if you have had contact with the paediatric and / or adult service in Scotland within the last two years.

Champion Study

The Somerville Foundation are involved in a study called CHAMPION to try to improve how the quality of services for congenital heart disease (CHD) is measured and reported in England. We want to hear your views on what makes services good quality, which includes understanding how COVID-19 has affected your experience of health care.

NHS England proposals for congenital heart defect services consultation

In 2017, NHS England launched a consultation to help ensure excellent care for patients with congenital heart defects. We made sure our members’ views were represented in this process.

Big Six Research

Our Big Six campaign is raising money to fund research and find more effective ways to treat and support adult CHD patients.

Our work helps the NHS to ensure proper implementation and ongoing standards of care and medical service provision.
