Scarred FOR Life
Scarred FOR Life was an exciting art project – a special photo exhibition of adults born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) baring their scars in celebration of life.
The project was run in Scotland by three CHD volunteers on behalf of Somerville Heart Foundation – Liza Morton, who was our Campaign Manager in Scotland, Jenny Kumar and Caroline Wilson. The photo exhibition was held in the Central Hall of Glasgow’s prestigious Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum from 12 February 2015 until 15 March 2015. For the month of May 2015, the exhibition moved to the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Clydebank and in June 2015 the exhibition moved to the Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert, and in October it was on display at our annual conference in Bristol and at the Scottish Parliament.
Below are the stories of those featured at the exhibition in Scotland in 2015.
They are Scott Burrell, Liza Morton, Caroline Wilson, Heather McDougall, Maggie Ross, Roderick Skinner, David Magennis, Karen Maclachlan. Sadly David Magennis and Heather McDougall have passed away since the exhibition. Our thoughts are with their families.
